A strong multiomics partner emerges in Europe
Novogene Europe (Beijing, China), a multiomics research services partner, has announced that it has strengthened its position as a multiomics partner with the launch of its Untargeted Metabolomics Service through its Cambridge Omics Centre (UK). This new capability will help researchers across the UK and Europe to connect molecular data with biological function by adding metabolite-level insight to genomics, transcriptomics, microbiome and broader life science studies.
Making human cell-based research more accessible
bit.bio (Cambridge, UK), the human cell programming company, has announced the launch of two new cell culture media kits designed to make human cell-based research significantly more accessible and affordable for laboratories worldwide.
Developed for use with bit.bio’s human iPSC-derived ioGlutamatergic Neurons and ioMicroglia, the easy-to-use media kits remove one of the major practical barriers to adopting human cells by providing researchers with a simple, standardized and cost-effective culture solution to make it easier for them to get started.

Metabolomics advancing life science research
Metabolon (NC, USA), a metabolomics solutions company advancing life science research, diagnostics, therapeutics and precision medicine, has announced an expansion of its Microbiome Panel, further strengthening the company’s position in one of the fastest-growing areas of multiomic research.
The enhanced Microbiome Panel enables researchers to screen for more than 800 metabolites that were carefully curated with literature support for their association with microbial activity, including expanded coverage of food and nutrition-related metabolites, host-microbiome interactions and disease-relevant biology. Designed for principal investigators, microbiome researchers and pharmaceutical teams supporting multiomic studies, the panel provides the life science industry’s most comprehensive view of the microbiome’s functional outputs.
Introducing a next-generation cell recovery reagent
TheWell Bioscience (NJ, USA), a company developing xeno-free 3D cell culture technologies, has announced the launch of RocketCell™ Cell Viability Enhancer (1000X), a next-generation cell recovery reagent engineered to maximize cell survival, metabolic recovery and proliferation following passaging, enzymatic dissociation, cryopreservation and organoid harvesting.
Well-characterized biospecimens assist development of cancer immunotherapies
AMSBIO reports how its biospecimens were used in a large-scale immuno-oncology study, contributing to new insights into biomarker development for cancer immunotherapies.

Transforming microbes into efficient production platforms
Microorganisms are increasingly being engineered to manufacture valuable compounds ranging from medicines and food ingredients to biofuels and industrial chemicals. However, turning microbes into efficient production platforms requires extensive strain optimization. Finding the right genetic changes to transform an ordinary microbe into a high-performing producer remains a major challenge, as beneficial genetic targets and gene combinations are often hidden within complex cellular networks.
To address this challenge, an international team of researchers developed iTARGET (integrated Tn-seq and multiplex automated genome engineering (MAGE)-assisted rapid genome engineering targeting), a novel platform designed to rapidly identify genetic modifications that improve microbial performance. Existing methods can generate genetic variants or identify beneficial mutations, but few can efficiently do both while revealing combinations that enhance production. The researchers set out to create a faster and more effective strategy for uncovering these hidden opportunities for strain improvement.
US$5 million partnership to accelerate biomarker development
The Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation’s Diagnostics Accelerator and The Michael J. Fox Foundation have announced a new US$5 million partnership to accelerate the development of minimally invasive biomarkers for measuring pathologies found in people living with Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease.

An appointment for advancing AI-driven antibody discovery
Camena Bioscience (Cambridge, UK), an enzymatic DNA synthesis company producing complex, high-fidelity gene constructs for AI-driven antibody discovery, has announced the appointment of Gregory P. McGuinness as Chief Executive Officer. Greg’s appointment will support the company’s continued growth, driving commercialization of the gSynth® platform for AI-driven antibody discovery, and operational scaling.
Pioneering a new category of antivirals
Decoy Therapeutics (TX, USA), a biotechnology company pioneering Designable Multi-Antivirals (D-MAVs™), a new category of antivirals engineered to target shared viral mechanisms, has announced that stockholders elected Patricia Gauthier as a Class II director at the company’s 2026 Annual Meeting of Stockholders, held 14 July 2026. Gauthier will serve with the company’s other two Class II directors, Rick Pierce and Jon Lieber, each of whom was re-elected at the annual meeting.
Decoding the language of cell signaling
Cellular Intelligence (MA, USA), the AI company building a universal foundation model of cell signaling, has announced the addition of two senior leaders to its executive team, as it prepares for the next phase of growth. Jonathan Alspaugh, chief strategy officer, joins with over 15 years of experience in biopharma strategy, finance and operations. Adam Weinroth, chief marketing officer, brings over two decades of experience scaling AI and deep-tech platforms. The appointments expand Cellular Intelligence’s leadership at an inflection point in its mission to decode the language of cellular signaling in order to advance novel therapeutic applications.
